Holger Thoss is a Brooklynite with a German accent.
“I study a martial art to be a better photographer.
Breathing, moving and looking has been my underlying purpose for as far as I can remember.
I am driven by my intuition.
Philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein’s motto Don’t Think! Look! became my mantra.
Photography is not just a profession, a passion for me.
It is my art, my craft, my riddle to help me understand life.”

PROUST QUESTIONAIRE: HOLGER

My camera is my ... trusted tool that gets a ton of affection.

A wedding is ... a welcome challenge.

A ritual is anything that ... deliberately shifts your consciousness to a different angle.

My experience photographing weddings has taught me ... to trust myself.

The best piece of advice anyone has ever given me is ... you are always a beginner.

The thing that surprises me the most about weddings is ... they are never the same.

The craziest thing I ever saw happen at a wedding was ... an outdoor ceremony in the middle of a snowstorm.

The biggest compliment anyone’s ever given me was ... when the father of the bride hugged me and declared his happiness that I had shared this day with them.

I wish brides wouldn’t worry so much about ...it being the perfect day.

If I could give every bride and groom one piece of advice it would be ... to celebrate!
